Managing Address Contacts

Civic Platform provides the ability to build associations between contacts and addresses. This allows for a contact to have address information independent of the owner and parcel relationship. If necessary, a contact can also have an address that is associated with a parcel.

Adding a Contact to an Address

Associate a new contact with an address.

To associate an address to a contact

  1. Navigate to the Address portlet.

    Civic Platform displays the Address detail page.

  2. Click on the Contact tab.

    Civic Platform displays the address contact list page.

  3. Click New.

    Civic Platform displays the contact fields.

  4. Complete the fields as described in Contact Detail Fields.

  5. Click Submit.

    Civic Platform displays the contact in the contact list portlet.

Searching for a Contact to Apply to an Address

If a contact already exists in Civic Platform, you can search for it and apply it to an address.

To search for a contact

  1. Navigate to the Address portlet.

    Civic Platform displays the Contact list page.

  2. Click the Contact tab.

    Civic Platform displays the contact address list page.

  3. Click Look Up.

    Civic Platform displays the contact search page.

  4. Enter the search criteria in the contact field(s.)

  5. Click Submit.

    Civic Platform displays the results from the search.

  6. Select the contact you want to associate with the address.

  7. Click Select.

Deleting a Contact from an Address

You can delete a contact from an address if the person is no longer associated with it.

To delete a contact from an address

  1. Navigate to the Address portlet.

    Civic Platform displays the Address list page.

  2. Click the Contact tab.

    Civic Platform displays the Contact list page.

  3. Select the contact you want to delete.

  4. Click Delete.

    Civic Platform deletes the contact from the address.
