Report Manager

This section explains how to integrate Report Manager with the supported third-party report services: Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Report Server, and Oracle Reports. Report Manager is the portlet in Civic Platform where agency users schedule and run the reports developed with the third-party reporting services, and with Accela Report Writer.

There are three required steps for setting up this feature, followed by two optional steps.

  1. Install Third-Party Reporting Services - Installation instructions include each of the supported third-party report services: Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Report Server, and Oracle Reports.
  2. Set Up the Reports Directory - Create a reports directory on the report server machine for storing the reports that users access from Report Manager.
  3. Add Report Security Parameters - To protect your agency's data, add a specific security parameter to the reports that users run against the Civic Platform database.
  4. Configuring IE for Client-side Executable Reports (Optional) - To execute reports from programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, set an Internet Explorer security property.
  5. Setting Up Crystal Reports Database Login Information (Optional) - To use Crystal Reports, set the login credentials for each report service your agency uses.
